Try These Local Seafood Dishes at the Ceviche and Aguachile Festival
The third edition of the Ceviche and Aguachile Festival will be held this Friday, January 27 in Puerto Vallarta, where eight of the best restaurants in the Banderas Bay area will prepare and serve these traditional and tasty Mexican dishes.
Gourmets and occasional visitors will delight their palates with tasty creations prepared by renowned local chefs in this edition of the Festival, where the absolute protagonists will be these famous native dishes, in a variety of versions. This annual culinary event will take place at Plaza Lázaro Cárdenas in the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta, where portions of ceviche and aguachile will be served at affordable prices in a festive atmosphere, accompanied by music and lots of fun.
Ceviche and aguachile are two classic seafood dishes that are very popular on Mexico’s west coast, where they are gaining acceptance among tourists visiting Puerto Vallarta and other similar destinations. Ceviche, a well-known seafood dish throughout Latin America (especially Mexico and Peru), is usually made from raw fish or fresh seafood, dried in lemon juice and spiced with peppers. Ceviche can also be seasoned with onions, salt and cilantro. For its part, Aguachile—considered the lesser-known cousin of Ceviche—is a dish originating from the Sinaloa region, which is made with shrimp, soaked in a broth seasoned with peppers, salt, lemon, coriander and fresh vegetables. .
