The Sandy Crab launches seafood dishes on the West Side

Continuing its important role as the first brick-and-mortar base for ambitious new casual start-ups, The sand crab moved into Mother Falafel’s former home at the Campus Commons food court on the west side. The falafael concept successfully made its way into his own restaurant late last year.

The Sandy Crab has been hosting food and work festivals since 2014, specializing in “Coral Delights” and seafood favorites, earning a special reputation for its daily-prepared “Maryland-style jumbo crab cakes,” available in mini, large or sliding sizes. .

Half a pound of snow crab legs are served with melted butter, lemon and a roll, and can be upgraded for any entree. Crab nachos, calamari and po’boy shrimp sandwiches join buckets of shrimp with fries, fish and crab tacos and the ‘Big Catch’, a crispy white fish served with fries and tartar sauce homemade.
