Texas woman arrested in connection with high HEB heist; accomplice still at large

Google MapsOne of two women accused of stealing more than $2,000 worth of meat from a Texas HEB was arrested on Tuesday.
Marchea Latonya Brooks, 40, has been charged with six counts of theft and is being held on $28,000 bond.
The woman suspected of being Brooks’ accomplice, whom police have identified as 53-year-old Latonya Thomas, remains at large.
Temple Police were called to the HEB at South 31 Street on April 15 after a store worker reported the couple had left with a shopping cart full of meat.
The employee attempted to arrest the women after noticing they were walking out without paying for the meat, but Brooks and Thomas loaded everything into their vehicle before the employee could remove the cart, Temple police said.
The women fled before the police arrived.
