A suspected shoplifter was filmed exiting a New York Trader Joe’s carrying a pile of stolen steaks that looked like they could fuel a football team’s offensive line, according to a report.

The New York Post obtained video of the alleged theft Tuesday morning at the location of the East 14th Street supermarket. The newspaper said that “two helpless Trader Joe staff followed the man up an escalator leading out of the store, but only stopped him from taking a basket outside – not the meat, like the show the video”.

The NYPD told Fox News the incident is under investigation and there were no arrests as of Wednesday morning. Police said they were called and responded to the store at 8:40 a.m.

A worker told the newspaper he was discouraged from trying to arrest shoplifters.

“It doesn’t bother me,” the worker told the newspaper. “I’ve been working here for two years, I see him every day. After a while, you don’t care.”

The video was similar to one posted by actor Michael Rapaport last month which he said showed a shoplifter nonchalantly exiting a New York City Rite Aid after filling a few bags.

The city has seen an increase in levels of shoplifting, according to reports.

“This fucking dude just filled his two bags with everything in Rite Aid, here on the 80 [Street] and First Avenue, walk down the street like it’s Gucci. Staring me in the face like, ‘what’s good?’ I watched it all the time,” he added.

Trader Joe’s did not immediately respond to an after-hours email from Fox News. CBS New York reported that the city hasn’t seen this level of shoplifting since 1995.
