Long Island Eatery has become a steak and sushi hotspot
Rare650 is carving out a reputation as one of the best steakhouses on Long Island – even during a pandemic.
Local foodies rave about Syosset Restaurant’s fine dining, friendly, knowledgeable staff, and welcoming, plush ambience — which includes sipping cocktails under the stars from inside a tropical glass veranda with comfy seating.
Faced with the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on the restaurant sector, Rare650 has added an online order take-out menu to its services offered. This means you can enjoy Rare650’s exotic steaks, authentic sushi and international raw bar selections at home.
To create a safe dining experience, Rare650 is ensuring social distancing between customers and asking staff to adhere to strict cleaning and sanitation policies as well as wear face masks.
“Excellent meal, excellent service, great atmosphere. COVID precautions were enforced during meals,” said KF from Jersey City, New Jersey, in a December 2020 Yelp review. “Came here for my boyfriend’s birthday and we didn’t regret it . We will definitely be back.”
Rare650 is an Anthony Scotto restaurant. Scotto specializes in high-end catering. The restaurant group also owns Blackstone, Insignia, One10, Opus Steakhouse and Jewel, which will reopen in the spring. Scotto also recently purchased the former Wonder Bread Factory in Melville and began construction of a new restaurant there.
Scotto opened Rare650 in 2009 in a Hampton-style mansion with a Manhattan-inspired interior. Many guests have enjoyed Rare650 for years, but have recently been impressed with how Rare650 is coping with COVID-19.
“First and foremost, all of the COVID-19 protocols that we are enforcing from restaurant entry through the entire meal and departure,” said Andrew K. of NYC, the Yelp poster , in a review at the end of November 2020. “The service was quick and efficient. Drinks came out in a timely manner, as did refills, regardless of drink type.
“The food came out perfectly timed in terms of the time between starters and main courses and finally dessert. I highly recommend the sliders as the sauce goes perfectly with the meat which has been cooked to temperature. Side wise the Brussels sprouts were some of the best I’ve had, the mashed potatoes had the perfect texture and the creamed spinach was also delicious A review on the burrata and bacon dish, give us more bacon Other than that a top notch meal.
