The town of Airdrie in Lanarkshire was blessed with the formidable presence of Icelandic strongman and actor Hafþór Júlíus “Thor” Björnsson, aka The Mountain in Game of Thrones.
The 33-year-old, who is 6-foot-9, recently spent some time in town, training in the gym of Billy Nelson, Scotland’s most accomplished and successful boxing trainer.
And during this time, the Hollywood actor has also developed a strong fondness for dishes from local butchers, Ferguson’s of Airdrie, which he confirmed offers “the best steaks in Scotland.”
