Anyone who’s tried rubbing thick grease on metal knows how stubborn it can be. Soap and hot water won’t go any further, often leaving a residual shine that won’t budge.

For cleaning parts in meat production, this has typically been combated by using extremely harsh chemical solvents to keep processing machinery up to strict health and safety standards.

These cleaners are often harmful to human skin, requiring heavy-duty personal protective equipment (PPE) to use certified toxic waste disposal. To combat this, CRC has developed a turnkey parts washing system that uses a bioremediation process to break down oil, grease and carbon-based contaminants using live microbes.

“The SmartWasher® is ideal for slaughterhouse use, due to its food safety certifications and outstanding cleaning performance for fats and fats,” explained Melanie Mangos, CRC Industrial Sales Manager.

“Additionally, many heavy-duty parts washing systems on the market use harsh solvents, which can be harmful to the environment and the user.”

Bioremediation technology was first used in large-scale oil spill applications (eg, Exon Valdez and Deep-Water Horizon), to clean up large amounts of oil and contaminants organically.

With the innovative SmartWasher® parts washing system, CRC has has adapted this technology to industrial and food manufacturing sites with its market-leading parts washing system.

“We’ve had tremendous success in the paddock to plate market, working with Motion Australia representatives to do joint calls or site visits to customers,” Mangos said.

“We have done incredible work together at some of the largest food manufacturing plants in the country, from bakeries and wineries to slaughterhouses and chicken processing. Everyone has come back with positive feedback and the conversion rate on product trials is incredibly high. »

So how does it work, exactly?

In the mobile system, the filter, microbes and fluid work in tandem to “eat away” oil and grease, leaving parts sparkling. OzzyJuice® cleaning fluid lifts grease, grease, oils and other organic material from parts, emulsifying it and passing through the OzzyMat® filter. In the liquid reservoir, fresh microbes eat the contaminants, expelling them as water and carbon dioxide through the process of bioremediation.

“Not only are you saving on water consumption,” Mangos said.

“The main benefit is that it reduces the need for transporting hazardous waste and promotes a sustainable workplace. The fact that users no longer need to organize and pay to transport chemical waste – this is a considerable cost saving, especially for larger or multi-site operations.
