Columbus GA’s Gayle Dudley Grills 1 Million LongHorn Steaks

Gayle Dudley, a grill master at LongHorn Steakhouse in Columbus, was honored with a surprise ceremony to celebrate her grilling a million steaks for the restaurant.

Dudley has worked at LongHorn for approximately 25 years.

LongHorn executives presented Dudley with a check for $5,000, a special chef’s coat and other commemorative items.

“I was surprised,” she told the Ledger-Enquirer in an email. “Being named Grill Master Legend means a lot to me. What made me happiest was that I had the opportunity to share it with my mom and see how proud she was.

Since the incentive program began three years ago, Dudley has been one of 15 Grill Master legends among thousands of grill masters at the Orlando, Florida-based restaurant chain’s more than 540 locations. in 42 states, LongHorn spokeswoman Jessica Dinon told the LE.

Dudley explained what she loves most about her job.

“I like people,” she said. “I love my colleagues. I also love my guests because at the end of the day, when they tell me they enjoyed this steak, it gives me the most joy in the world.

Robert Swigonski, managing partner of the LongHorn in Columbus, called Dudley “extremely dedicated and loyal.”

“She is passionate about what she does every day and won’t send a steak if it’s not perfectly cooked,” he told LE in an email. “She cares about her guests and understands the importance of her role on our team and the impact it has on our guests.”

Swigonski also described Dudley as a “great team player”.

“She is always ready to help everyone,” he said. “…Knowing that you can count on someone and knowing that they will be there when you need them is such a good feeling.”

All of this helps the restaurant succeed, Swigonski said.

“Thanks to his efforts, along with our other grill masters, we got high marks for our steak cooking precision,” he said. “She does a great job helping us create repeat customers through the quality of the food she prepares.”
