A suspect stole 10 steaks from a store in New York

He catches the meat! Retail theft continues to be a growing problem and store workers often feel helpless as thousands of dollars worth of merchandise is stolen every day. A starving suspect was caught by the New York Post grabbing ten steaks from a popular New York grocery store on Tuesday morning. When asked why he was stealing all that food, the suspect replied that he was homeless and planned to eat all the steak. Does he really have such a big appetite or is he planning to sell the meat to another vendor?

I’m going to eat it,” the man says in the video. “I’m f****g hungry.

The suspect can be seen nonchalantly exiting the store carrying all the meat. It almost seems like he ran away with more steak than he could handle, as Trader Joe’s employees were able to get him to leave a basket which he tried to slip off. Unfortunately, the same store employees told the Post that they were instructed to do nothing else and let the thieves go.

We get in trouble if we do anything… I don’t mind, I’ve been working here for two years, I see it happen every day.

The suspect then steals a bag from a street sweeper to contain this excess meat. The NYPD says they went to the store and are investigating the matter.

Last December, a man took his head off an escalator at Trader Joe’s in New York. Witnesses told NBC NY the man slipped while climbing an escalator at a Trader Joe’s store at 72nd Street and Broadway. There aren’t too many other details about what exactly they mean by “getting stuck in an escalator”, but it certainly conjures up quite a few imaginations and mental scenarios. The man reportedly suffered minor injuries but was conscious and alert when taken to hospital.
