120-pound Sacramento woman sets record by eating 3 72-ounce steaks
A petite Sacramento woman has a full stomach and plenty to celebrate after managing to eat three 72-ounce steaks in 20 minutes.
Not only did competitive eater Molly Schuyler finish Sunday’s famous cuts of meat at the Big Texan restaurant in Amarillo, Texas, but she also wiped the plates and ate the sides.
That’s three 4 1/2 pound steaks, three baked potatoes, three shrimp cocktails, three salads, and three rolls.
Here’s how quickly she consumed the steaks: the first one was eaten in 4 minutes and 18 seconds; the second ended at 11 minutes and 47 seconds; and the third was completed in the 20th minute.
She tried to eat a fourth steak, but it turned out to be too much.
Dubbed the “72oz Showdown,” Schuyler’s feat broke a record at the Texas restaurant, known for its huge steaks.
The effort earned him a $6,000 prize, according to the Amarillo Globe-News. Schuyler’s achievement will be presented at Guinness World Records.
The 120-pound mother of four has entered more than 70 eating contests nationwide.
Schuyler broke her previously set restaurant record in May when she ate two meals of 72-ounce steak.
The restaurant is famous for its 72-ounce steak challenge. Those who complete the challenge in less than an hour can eat for free.
